There are many stories about the origin of Humpty Dumpty Most of us are familiar with this nursery rhyme from the stories that were read to us as children. Here is another version:
On the appointed day at the appointed hour, Humpty Dumpty decided to leave his homeland and explore life outside the kingdom. He chose to follow the road that had been laid out for him and joyfully began his journey.
He had traveled all day and was growing weary when he noticed the great wall in the distance. He was almost there. What would it be like on the other side, he wondered, as he finally reached his destination.
He rested for a bit. and after some calculations and effort he decided that his round head would not fit through the gate's square opening . He looked for another way to get to the other side. Ever so carefully he climbed the wall. As he reached the top, he could see for miles and was filled with excitement and anticipation as to what his new life could be like. A few minutes later he was sitting on top of the wall taking in a deep breath and the beautiful view before him.
As he wondered how he was going to get down, he looked below and what he saw took away his breath, as well as his common sense. There she was, looking up at him with the most angelic smile. What a perfect ending to a most productive day. He smiled as he reached for her hand.............
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the King's horses and all the King's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again.
